The Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, “as it is in truth, the Word of God…” (1 Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God’s preservation of His pure words to every generation (II Timothy 3:16, Psalm 12:6-8). We believe that the Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed.

The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. The Bible is our sole and final authority for faith and practice.

The Church

We believe that the Church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this present age which began with Christ and the Apostles, was empowered at Pentecost, and will be caught up to be with Christ at the Rapture (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27; I Corinthians 12:12-14; II Corinthians 11:2).

We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).

We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control (Acts 13:1-4, 15:19-31, 20:28; Romans 16:1, 4; I Corinthians 3:9, 16, 5:4-7, 13; I Peter 5:1-4).

Biblical Separation

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (II Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 12:1, 2, 14:13; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1).

Creation

We believe in the literal historicity of the Genesis account of God’s creating this earth and man in seven literal twenty-four hour days, of man’s early home in the Garden paradise, of his fall by eating the forbidden fruit, of his spiritual death and depraved nature resulting from this rebellion, and of his expulsion from the Garden.

We totally reject evolution as being merely an alternate theory of origins. It dictates one’s total worldview including his foundation for truth and morals. Evolution is the creation of the depraved mind of fallen man in his vain attempt to avoid God. If God did not create then He has no right to control. Evolution turns this universe into a giant machine operated by the laws of nature, ruling God out and denying the supernatural origin of the Bible and all biblical miracles. Evolution ultimately deifies man and makes God irrelevant and unnecessary. Evolution and biblical Christianity are incompatible.

Human Sexuality

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Gen. 2:22-24; Gen. 19:5-13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29, 1 Cor. 5:1,6-9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4).

We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7-10; Eph. 5:22-23).

We believe that both men and women are spiritually equal in position before God, but that God has ordained distinct and separate functions for men and women in the home and the church. The husband is to be the leader of the home and men are to be the leaders (pastors and deacons) of the church. Accordingly only men are eligible for licensure and ordination by the church (Gal. 3:28; Col. 3:18; 1 Tim. 2:8-15; 3:4-5, 12).

Abortion

We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother is acceptable (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1,5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44).

 The Return of Christ

We believe the "Blessed Hope" of our Lord's return is literal, personal, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pretribulational. He will rapture His Church prior to the seven years of tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6; Psalm 89:3-4)

Ordinances

We Believe and practice three ordinances:  1) Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation 2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation, and 3) Foot washing as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s call to humbly serve one another.  Matthew 28:19;  Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26; John 13:12-16

Salvation

We Believe that when a person trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, trusting Him alone to save, and not good works, at that moment salvation is received and they are born again, forgiven and made a child of God.  Ephesians 1:7, 2:1-10; Romans 10:9-10; John 1:12

God

We Believe in one personal and holy God who manifests Himself in three separate persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Philippians 2:6

We Believe that Jesus Christ, though fully God, became a human and that He is the promised Messiah, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by His  death on the cross, was resurrected by the power of the Holy Spirit, ascended back to the right hand of God the Father and is making intercession for us.  John 1:1; John 16:7-11; Matthew 19:28; Matthew 1:20-23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 1:3, 10:12; 2 Timothy 2:8

We Believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, who indwells and empowers all believers.  We believe in the fullness of the Holy Spirit for all believers who ask in faith.  John 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 12:13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:13; Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:8
